  1. -I was going to write this long treatise on how bands always have a difficult time walking the line between changing with the times and abandoning who they once were, but my head hurts too much right now.

-I differ completely with Kyle on S&M versus other symphonic metal such as Epica and Nightwish. To me, Metallica’s S&M seems like they just grafted on some orchestral arrangements that don’t add anything to the original Metallica songs. Yet I can’t imagine songs like “Ghost Love Machine” by Nightwish or “The Obsessive Devotion” by Epica without the symphonic elements.

-KC101! Do they still exist? I grew up on their 80s pop and Hozay Smith and Hammerhead. I had the 45 of “Please Send Me Reggie for Christmas.”

-I’m still not sure if Kyle genuinely likes the Wintersun album or if he is pulling a prank on us all. During his review of it I kept waiting for him to say “April Fools!”
