Defying Age
Two of the bands we cover this week have been around for quite some time. In fact, your hosts have been following one of them for over half their lives! Sure, there are many more bands that fit that bill, but every now and then you just have that “when the hell did that happen?” moment.
Reviews:
Amorphis – Queen of Time (Nuclear Blast)
Sevendust – All I See is War (Rise)
Fractal Gates – The Light that Shines (Rain Without End)
Illinois
Scientist
I agree completely about Amorphis. Their last 3 albums have all been great. For my money, Amorphis are one of the most underrated bands in metal.
For Bands Across America, I’m seeing a pattern that the better states for metal seem to have large cities in them. Illinois certainly has Chicago, but Mississippi? Not so many large urban areas.
You’re totally right about the pattern. The difference is, though, we found rad bands in VT and NH with far less effort than we did in, say, Mississippi. Luck of the draw, I guess.
