Lucky Number Seven
We hit another milestone! Seven years straight of a couple of Metal fans sharing their thoughts on new Metal albums. Sure, not all of them have been posted “on time,” but for 364 weeks in a row we have posted episodes, working around natural disasters, vacations, and commitments to our actual jobs.. And this is about as much special attention as this is gonna get.
Korpiklaani – Kulkija (Nuclear Blast)
Krisiun – Scourge of the Enthroned (Century Media)
Skyharbor – Sunshine Dust (eOne/Good Fight)
Colorado
Spit Black
It seems impossible that you’ve only covered Korpiklaani a couple of times before because there was a stretch where you talked about them every single week on the podcast. But that was back when you had 3 hosts and one of the hosts had a mild obsession with talking about how much he didn’t like this band. As for this new album, I have to say I was not impressed with the song you played on this episode.
If you think the Krisiun album is boring, does it really warrant a rating of a 3?
Yeah, I feel like it impossible that we have only covered two Korpiklaani albums.
I stand my by 3 rating for Krisiun. There is nothing bad or poorly executed about the album. It just feels a bit stale. If you were a bigger fan of the band than either of us are, this album would probably be totally fine as it blends with their more traditional style more than some other albums we’ve covered. It’s serviceable, which to me is the definition of a 3.
