What the heck is “speed metal” anyway? It’s just the old name for thrash. What are some speed metal bands that aren’t thrash?
One of the better albums I’ve listened to recently is from the band Paranorm. Their album Empyrean dropped in February, but I’m only getting into it now. Their brand of technical trash is really hitting me in the right places. The guitar work and lead lines are fantastic, and as we all know that’s what I gravitate towards the most in metal music.
100% correct on speed metal.
I actually think we received that Paranorm album in our promo. It’s on my computer… Guess we should get to actually listening to it!
