The Dynamics
Taking inspiration from the episode number, we checked out four new albums this time! Though all these releases are different styles of Metal, they are probably the least drastically different than we have had in some. So if you’re wondering about the episode’s title, just listen and it will become apparent.
Also, concerts are starting to come back, but things aren’t “normal” yet. Do you want to help support the touring and venue crews who are first getting back to work? Go to THIS PAGE to find out how you can help this podcast contribute to Crew Nation and make us review whatever you want.
And remember – Be responsible. Stay healthy. Stay Metal.

I’m in a weird state with my current listenings. Recently there have been very few releases from bands that I know and like, with Gojira being the only one in the past few months. So I’ve been actively seeking out highly rated recent metal releases and those all seem to be from bands I’ve never heard of before. A lot of the more highly rated releases are sort of on the periphery of what might be considered metal. Some of the better ones have been from Vola and Lifesigns (both of which are very proggy and less metal), Impure Wilhelmina (post-rock/metal), and Nightshadow (which is definitely metal but old school heavy/power metal). And a little further out there have been Dordeduh and Thy Catafalque, with the former being more black metal-ish but both being all over the place (in a good way). All of those have been good albums, but none really stand out as being great – and also none of them would fit into what I’d consider your wheelhouse. But I’ve been looking to expand my horizons lately which has met with varying degrees of success.
We actually almost reviewed Impure Wilhelmina a couple episodes ago. I haven’t gotten around to listening though. And maybe I’ll check out Nightshadow, for something different.
I’ve been been in your position before and it’s as fun as it can be frustrating. Recently though, I have actually been trying to explore less so I can spend more time with glut of music I’ve been neglecting. If you come across anything stellar, though, so let us know!

I’d say that Nightshadow is the best of the bunch that I’ve listened to these past few months. Their album “Strike Them Dead” is their self-released debut. I can’t see this band staying unsigned for long, as this album is too good for some label to not pick them up.
