Episode 449: Spirit Adrift, Leprous, Oxygen Destroyer, Beyond Grace 2021 Album Reviews

Kaiju Metal is a Thing?

We have one band that seems to think so, even if we don’t agree with some of their sonic interpretation.  What would Gojira think ?  The band or the monster…we’ll take either’s opinion.  Oh, and we review some Death Metal, Prog Rock, and straight up Heavy Metal.

Also, I’ve music is starting to happen, but is off to a rocky (re)start. Do you want to help support the touring and venue crews who are first getting back to work? Go to THIS PAGE to find out how you can help this podcast contribute to Crew Nation and make us review whatever you want.

Be responsible. Stay healthy. Stay Metal.

  1. Hey guys, Andy from Beyond Grace here. Just stumbled across the podcast this morning and wanted to say thank you for including us. Hopefully it will stick with you (it’s meant to be a grower… we hope!) and, well, I/we would like to say how much we appreciate you taking the time to actually listen to the whole thing and share your thoughts about it!

  2. Spirit Adrift has the uncanny ability to make me hear parts of other band’s songs in their music. This new EP is no different, with the line in the title track that goes: “I think of every choice that I will ever make” has me singing “I think of all the education that I missed” from Van Halen’s Hot For Teacher.

As for Leprous, I consider myself a fan of the band even though I haven’t yet gotten around to listening to their latest album. Their problem is that they have been on a downward path since their album The Congregation, released in 2015. So I’m still on the fence if I will be buying their latest release.

    Nick: “Ooh. We don’t agree.”
    Brian: “But we don’t disagree.”
So what you’re saying is that even when you don’t agree, you still don’t disagree.
