Ten. FREAKing. Years.
That’s right. 10 years of bringing you the best – and worst – in music to make your ears bleed. 450 episodes of two (or three) friends sharing our opinions on approximately 1,665 releases!! That’s a lot of Metal.
A HUGE thanks to any and all of you who have subscribed, listened to even one episode, liked a post, left a comment, sent us music or recommendations, did an interview, reviewed albums with us, gave us money, donated to Crew Nation, or even berated us and then deleted the message (yes, that happened). You are all the reason we do this. Well, that and we like checking out music…and talking to each other…but you’re the reason we keep at it.

I can’t “wait” until you give your review of Rivers of Nihil’s new album before I say this: the song “The Wait” by Rivers of Nihil is the best Guns n’ Roses song from the past 30 years.
Oh man, am I NOT looking forward to this album.
Wow, 10 years! My reminiscing commemorating the occasion is that I listened to the first episode while driving back home from running the Scranton marathon. It was the second marathon I ran (and will almost certainly be my last) and it was a big accomplishment for me.
For Carcass’s Torn Arteries, I feel like I can’t disagree with what you guys said about it, but I am enjoying it more than you. Their previous album, Surgical Steel, is certainly better, but I think a large part of that is just how good Surgical Steel is and how well it holds up 8 years later. There were plenty of people who named Surgical Steel one of the best albums of the decade, including number 2 at Metal Sucks and number 1 at Decibel. To say that Torn Arteries is better than the latest At The Gates album isn’t saying much, as this year’s At The Gates album has got to be one of the most disappointing albums of the year. In absolute terms, I’d say Torn Arteries would be a 4 for me.
For Inferi, I’m in agreement with you guys on them, including the assessment of their live show, as I saw them open for Allegaeon. It seems to me that Inferi hit their peak on 2014’s The Path of Apotheosis.
You’ve got some good ones for the next episode, as I’ve already had the Rivers of Nihil and Unto Other/Idle Hands in heavy rotation.
