Alright, now we are really getting into the swing of things.  We have all new releases this week including two from bands we know (one of which was pretty highly anticipated by us) and two from bands we had never heard of before a week and a half ago.  What we found interesting, though – and you might too – is who put out the better albums.  Maybe part of it had to do with expectations, as in high expectations versus no or low expectations.  Or maybe half the bands just did better. Feel free to weigh in on this in the comments.

Reviews:
Enter Shikari – The Mindsweep (Hopeless)
The Oxford Coma – Morphine (self-released)
Raunchy – Vices. Virtues. Visions. (Massacre)
Thorr-Axe – Gates of Winter (self-released)

We have a mixed bag of releases this week.  What makes that different than most every other week?  Well, nothing really.  Though, we do finally have some 2015 releases to talk about!  So, that’s different than the last few weeks, I guess.  It’s more like getting back to normal…or whatever.  Just listen.

After having a pretty epic episode last week (if we do say so ourselves), we have a little more low key of an episode here, though no more less eclectic than many of our others. What long time listeners will find interesting here (besides the music itself) is the difference between most the reviews Brian and Nick present.  There might be a “first” in here, which we note near the end, and there are definitely a few rarities.  Hopefully it all adds up to an interesting listen!  (Feel free to let us know either way in the comments.)

Sometimes landing scores in the middle doesn’t necessarily mean the album was just average.  Maybe it means some of it is awesome and some of it was not as inspired.  That is something discussed repeatedly by one of the hosts on this episode.  The other takes a more broad stance on his reviews, but in the end, they come to meet in the same place quite often.

After coming off of last week’s show focusing on production, we’re happy to report that all the albums this week are produced very well.  On top of that, they are all full of good music!  We have four new albums whose bands are new to us, and two of those are also brand new bands! We also have a live review of the last top of “This Tour is Personal.”  So, it’s a very full episode, baked twice for extra deliciousness (just listen…we explain).
