The Future Has Looked Better…

Looking at this episode as I am posting it, I found it interesting how what is old is new again and still fresh sounding while what is actually new sounds kinda old, tired and not fresh.  I mean, that is obviously just in the opinion of this here podcast, but that is what matters most to us in the end anyway. That said – if you think we are really wrong about that, please tell us in the comments.

Also, before I get called out on it – yes, I forgot to do the live review of the Decibel Magazine Tour stop in NY.  By the time I remembered, we didn’t have a chance add it.  However, since it was the last stop of the tour anyway, it’s not really urgent.  So, look for it next week in 187.

It really is only a little bit of Christmas flavoring this week, and most of it is complaining.  We talk about Christmas music inside and outside of the Metal scene, which came about because of one new song.  But worry not, boys and girls!  We are still reviewing 2014 releases, and we have four new albums this week!  We will also have a normal episode next week (spoiler alert – we also found a Metal Christmas album for that episode), then it is year-end festivities time.

Defying all expectations, the one and only Rock(jock) makes it back again!  (You know you’re excited…or something).  He even brings a special guest, who, if you have been listening, was mentioned in last two shows. With that, we also have a diverse review line-up, which includes one album where I guarantee some of the ratings given will shock you (hint: stick around to the end).  In the middle of the show, we “rapid fire” 10 new singles giving our first impressions of new albums dropping in the coming months.  Yes, TEN!  And we have more coming next week, so make sure you stay tuned.

Want to listent too all of the new music as it comes out?  Then makes sure you’re following The Sideshow on Google +!

Boy do we have a long one for you!  Clocking in at 1 hour and 42 minutes (including over 15 minutes of music) I think we have a new record for longest Sideshow Podcast.  Why is it so long?  Well, for starters, Kyle is back this week, and just like any other time he is here, he hosts the show.  The ROCK(jock) takes through our our standard four new albums reviewed, plus a couple of previews, Brian’s live review of Kvelertak, and some further discussion on the Tim Lambesis situation. Yeah, it’s a jam packed show.  We’re just trying to give you more for your money…so to speak.

Also, since I, Brian, write these little posts, let me say: I am acutely conscious of the fact I need to ameliorate my lexicon.  Yes, I apprehend I erroneously used the word ‘penultimate.’  Please pardon my limited knowledge of  the English language.
