Redeemed by the Proverbial Left Field

I guess that title is somewhat of a spoiler (assuming you haven’t looked dat the sidebar yet), but it’s true.  It’s a good thing, though, because that means we have a couple of new “discoveries” that hopefully you’ll enjoy too!  You should let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Yes, I am intentionally making Death references in the title.  And, also yes, it was inspired by one of our album reviews.  However, those two album names also apply to the rest of the reviews in this episode, which makes me very deep and clever.  Or maybe it just makes me lazy, but either way, they fit. Anyway, you’ll notice that since we overwhelmed you with segments last week, we decided to strip down this show.  Ok, fine. That’s not really how it went down, but just work with me here…

When it’s a slow week for major releases, we tend to branch out and try new bands, some of which come from the small labels who send us promo.  Like with all experiments, you don’t really know how it’s going to turn out until it’s over. Sometimes we find some truly awesome gems!  And sometimes…well, we find steaming piles dog poo.  So how did this week’s experiments turn out?  Get listening and you’ll find out.

They can’t all be winners, folks. And this week, we have a perfect example of that.  That’s not to say that the music we are featuring this week is abysmal or will actually make your ears bleed, but it’s also not the finest aural assaults we have presented either.  But that’s not a bad thing!  Why? Because now you don’t have to sit through the entirety of any of these albums like we did.  Consider that out belated Valentine’s Day gift to you fine freaks.

Ok, yeah, we know that’s the same thing we do every week, but when we go a whole episode with Brian not giving anything above a three, you know there are some real gems in there we are saving you from.
