Lamb of God

What to Expect When You’re Expecting

This is where I normally write some witty crap about the episode. However, since it is getting to you so late, I am going to skip that and just let you listen.

This week, we are trying something a little different.  While we are still reviewing albums (as we do every week) and we do always tend to discuss the production of said albums, we are making that the focus of the show.  With the release of the 10th Anniversary Edition of As the Palaces Burn inspiring the idea, and the fact that Brian had a few remastered albums sitting on his desk, we decided to give a bit of analysis to those reworks. We do also discuss the merits of the albums themselves because, save for Palaces, we hadn’t heard the others before, so you may not have either!  We also have two brandy-new albums thrown in there for good measure.

Refreshed and reenergized, Nick and Brian return for another week Metal goodness. This time around, there are five new releases to analyze; some came out last week, some drop this week, but they all range from solid to fantastic…in our humble opinions, that is.  We also have yet a mother live review from Brian’s recent throwdown in NYC.  There’s a whole lot to get to, so you should probably stop reading this and start listening to the show.  Seriously…stop reading.  We’re done here.

This week, things get back to normal.  Each host is recording from their respective, powered home.  We have four new album reviews, including the one we missed last week. We even have a discussion that doesn’t turn into a debate/fight (and Brian is able to follow the whole thing)!  Weird, right? Don’t worry…there is a little debating during one of the album reviews. We even have a quick live review of Lamb of God show that went down at Roseland Ballroom in NYC two nights ago.  So, yeah…things are about as normal as they get around here.

If you haven’t listened to Ep. 43 yet, #YouAskedForIt, go do that first.  Spoiler: we have our biggest brawl yet over who would have been the headliner at the now-cancelled Dethklok, Lamb Of God, Gojira show.  Whatever your reasons may be, we want to know who you think the headliner should have been.  Not asking who’s better – just who would have motivated more bodies to come through the door.

Either way, it got Gojira a couple solo dates in my area so I’m happy with either outcome!
