This past week had a lot of new releases, really bringing the previously-mentioned onslaught to a head. There were so many, in fact, that the other half of the stuff we chose to get will be covered next week.  This week, though, we have some of the crème de la crème of the week – four excellent albums that bring another first to this show. In the middle of this goodness, we have another live review for you!

Some bands keep getting better as they age.  Some get to an apex, and then start going downhill. Others are just solid bands and don’t change too drastically between releases, for better or worse. Well, this week, though a few of these bands are still rather young, we have examples of all of those situations. It makes for some pleasant surprises, some not-so-pleasant surprises, and a couple of met-expectaitons, which we are perfectly happy with.  Those ambiguous descriptors don’t just apply to the new albums but also the live review and first impression covered in this brandy-new episode.

Refreshed and reenergized, Nick and Brian return for another week Metal goodness. This time around, there are five new releases to analyze; some came out last week, some drop this week, but they all range from solid to fantastic…in our humble opinions, that is.  We also have yet a mother live review from Brian’s recent throwdown in NYC.  There’s a whole lot to get to, so you should probably stop reading this and start listening to the show.  Seriously…stop reading.  We’re done here.
