Sorry this episode is late too. I swear this won’t be a regular thing. Since you have waited long enough, I’ll cut to the chase: the show is here now and, for your listening pleasure, we have…you guessed it…four new releases!
Reviews:
Armageddon – Captivity & Devourment (Listenable)
Barishi– Endless Howl (independent)
Kruger – Adam and Steve (Listenable)
36 Crazyfists – Time and Trauma (Spinefarm)
36 Crazyfists – Time And Trauma
An album I would suggest reviewing is Colliding Skies by Chaos Divine (March 9). They label themselves as progressive heavy rock and I would mostly agree.
The albums available to stream if you wish to check it out. I thought you guys may like it.
Thanks for the tip Matt! We checked out a sample on YouTube and will be reviewing them in Ep. 180. Thanks for listening!
In these days of lackluster releases, I’m still listening to Periphery. And Blind Guardian. Because Power Metal. There are a few anticipated power metal releases coming up, including Ensiferum and Nightwish, in addition to Blind Guardian. After listening to the new Blind Guardian album, I never realized how much they sound like Queen. Or how much Queen sounds like Power Metal.
The only problem you have with Opeth is the structure? You mean you don’t have a problem with the extensive use of the Hammond organ?
