See what I did there?  Ok, cool.  Moving on…well, actually, I don’t really have anything to add here this week. There is definitely plenty to talk about though, so listen to the show and start a conversation with us in the comments.

  1. I don’t think I’ve complained about this for at least a few months, so I’m due for yet another gripe about Decibel. I stopped my subscription last year but I still occasionally pick up and issue now and then. I’m on a trip and needed some reading material for the flight so I bought the latest issue. Here’s my gripe: they gave Periphery III a 4. Out of 10. Decibel almost always rates everything between a 6 and 9. But Periphery III got a 4. I’m still listening to Periphery III and it will almost certainly be a top 10 album for me at the end of the year, despite what Decibel thinks.

  2. New Metallica!!! You said that it was 11 years between Reload and Death Magnetic. Did you deliberately leave out St. Anger? I have a gripe with the new Metallica album already: the release date. November 18? That’s too late in the year. At that time of the year I’m going to be roasting chestnuts on an open fire while jack frost nips at my nose.

    Sabaton next week? Yes!

    1. LMFAO! Believe it or not, I honestly didn’t not intentionally leave out St. Anger. While I owned it at some point, it is not in my iTunes library, which is what I was looking through to get the release years. It never occurred to me that that album was missing.
November 18 is pretty much the cut off toe be considered for EOY lists, as far as I am concerned. And I am going to to hope we won’t quite be into Jack Frost weather yet.

      1. Regarding the Metallica release date, I also feel that between now and November 18 that there are about 100 albums being released that I want to listen to (I started to make a list but it quickly grew too long). So when November 18 rolls around I’ll certainly still be listening to albums that were released in October.
